the Tamil Nadu Assembly resolution
against Sri Lanka describing it as
misleading and highly inappropriate.
Janata Party President Subramanian
Swamy on Saturday described as “not
only ridiculous but also highly
damaging for India’s national
interest,” the Tamil Nadu Assembly
resolution asking the Centre to
impose economic sanctions on Sri
Lanka, the Hindu reported.

Walallawita Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Udeni Atukorala was arrested by Bribery Commission officials for allegedly soliciting a Rs 1.5 million bribe from the Bentara Paradeshiya Sabha chairman. It is reported that he had accepted the bribe to provide a permit to transport soil.
