Twin bomb blasts kill 34 in NW Pakistan
At least 34 people have been killed and more than
80 injured after two massive explosions ripped through a crowded
supermarket complex in northwest Pakistan. The twin bomb blasts
occurred minutes apart at about 10:50 p.m. local time (1850 GMT) on
Saturday in the Khyber Super Market area of Peshawar, the capital of
the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, AFP reported.

US military bases attacked in Iraq
Deadliest raid on US forces since May 2009:
Iraqi security officials say the US military
bases have come under rocket attacks, in the deadliest raid on the
American forces since May 2009. There are currently about 50,000 US
soldiers in Iraq According to the Iraqi officials, six rockets have
hit a US military base in the southern city of Nassiriya. There is
no immediate report on possible damage to the base. On Friday,
another US military base was attacked in the northeastern city of
Baqouba, the capital of Diyala province.

Mexican peace caravan crosses US border
A week-long Mexican peace caravan crossed the
border into El Paso, Texas on Saturday as protest leader and poet
Javier Sicilia called on the US to do more in the fight against
drug-related violence in Mexico.
