Killed in road accident

Commanding Officer Lt Colonel Dharmadewa Herath of the 13th unit of Sri Lanka Cadet Corps died at an accident yesterday at about 5 am at Pannampitiya on the Dambulla-Matale main road.

While walking home from Pannampitiya junction after participating in the passing out ceremony at Rantembe on June 11, a vehicle had knocked him and sped away. He was admitted to Dambulla hospital and was immediately transferred to Kandy Base hospital where he died.

Dambulla Police are investigating.
