Security strengthened in Mihintale

Mihintale Police said that a special security programme will be in place for devotees visiting the Mihintale Sacred area during the Poson period. A special police team has been deployed to nab pick pockets, said Mihintale OIC Sujeewa Siriwardena.

The police said that facilities to worship Mihintale during the Poson season are provided, and requested the public to contact 025 2266522 during an emergency.

A special traffic plan will also be in place during this season.
