institutions:
Asia should not be held to ransom
International financial institutions, that play
an increasing role in the Asian region, should be more concerned
about the burdens they impose through conditions for assistance and
elimination of poverty and should not be held ransom to such
conditions, President Mahinda Rajapaksa said.

Cabinet approves Vote on Account
The Cabinet had approved President Mahinda
Rajapaksa’s proposal to present a Vote on Account for 2010 at its
meeting on October 16, for four months to cover the Government
expenditure till a budget is presented in Parliament, Mass Media and

Budget 2010 after Election - Minister
The Government will present the 2010 budget
following the parliamentary general election. It will be presented

Suspects refused bail

District Judge Harsha Sethunga refused applications for bail in
