Budget 2010 after Election - Minister

The Government will present the 2010 budget following the
parliamentary general election.
It will be presented under the new Parliament after April by
integrating it to the on going 10 year budget development plan, Finance
and State Revenue Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said.
“We could expand our development activities further from the 2010
budget. With the ending of the war we will allocate considerable quantum
of funds for development activities. Before that we are going to pass a
Vote on Account and it will be debated shortly,“ Siyambalapitiya told
the Daily News. He said all previous budgets under President Mahinda
Rajapaksa’s leadership have been integrated with each other and the 2010
Budget will also be linked to the development plan, which is scheduled
to be held after April or after the Parliamentary election.
Minister Siyambalapitiya said that Vote on Accounts have been
presented nine times before and this will allocate funds for the first
four months of the year 2010.
