Sri Lanka’s Dineshkanthan did not appear to be overawed by the defeat sustained at the hands of the Chinese Tao in the finals last Saturday of the concluded ITF Junior Circuit (week (1)) tennis tournament.

A.A. Nilanthi of the Sintesi BC put up a fine performance to beat B.N. Erandi of the Navy (Light Heavy Weight under 75 kgs) finals in the the Men’s and Women’s National Boxing Championships held at Sugathadasa Stadium yesterday.

Innings win for Joes

St. Joseph’s College, Colombo beat Moratu Vidyalaya by innings and four runs in their inter-school under 19 cricket match played at Darley Road. Resuming at 40 for 1, Vidyalians were bundled out for 114 runs with Rosco Thattil and Dilan Dangodage claiming 3 for 23 and 3 for 45 respectively.
