Cabinet approves Vote on Account

The Cabinet had approved President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s proposal to
present a Vote on Account for 2010 at its meeting on October 16, for
four months to cover the Government expenditure till a budget is
presented in Parliament, Mass Media and Information and Enterprise
Development and Investment Promotion Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa
said at the weekly Cabinet press briefing yesterday.
The following expenditure will be included in the Vote on Account for
maintaining for public services:
Recurrent Expenditure – Rs. 197,478,109,000
Capital Expenditure - Rs. 158,987,398,000
Advance Accounts - Rs. 6,222,467,000
The Vote on Account will include one third of the funds passed by
Parliament as Supplementary Estimates during the current year. The
provision included in the Vote on Account will be included in the
Appropriation Bill 2010 that is to be presented in Parliament
subsequently, he said. |
