Admit giving false figures under LTTE pressure:

Not a single civilian starved to death:

Five doctors who were serving in the No Fire Zone during the last few days of the final battle in Mullaivaikkal, yesterday admitted that the figures they were dispatching to certain media about civilian casualties were false and exaggerated, due to pressure exerted by the LTTE and regretted their errors.

Dept entertains 650 applications daily:

Smart driving licence cards progressing well - Commissioner

The issuance of the smart driving licence cards is progressing well and the Department of Motor Traffic entertains 650 applications per day. The processing includes renewals, attribute change extensions and new driving licences, said Commissioner of Motor Traffic B. Wijayaratne.
