Medical Officers Forum blames GMOA

The Independent Medical Officers Forum says that their post internship appointment list has been canceled considering the inaccurate information provided by the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) and 232 of post intern doctors who served in IDP camps have been withdrawn from their services in order to protest against the decision.

They say that their service delivered to IDPs had been appreciated by the International community but now their service had been overlooked, considering inaccurate information provided by the GMOA as a result of taking revenge.

The GMOA says the medical services provided for the IDPs have not been affected and additional doctors have been sent to IDP camps from Anuradhapura, Matale, Kurunegala and Kandy hospitals. The GMOA also states that it will act with responsibility and dedication and will not let any service suffer due to lack of doctors.
