Bahrain Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa yesterday commended the manner in which Sri Lanka acted to defeat terrorism and said this is a perfect example to other countries which faced with the threat of terrorism.

Devolution necessary to uplift economy

The visiting Bahrain Prime Minister, Sheikh Khailifa Bin Selman Al Khalid, gave an assurance to Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka that his country would help Sri Lanka with open arms in its efforts to rebuild and develop the economy in the aftermath of the defeat of terrorism, and his country would also request its friends in the Gulf region to help Sri Lanka similarly.

Exporters hail reward scheme

The Export Development Reward Scheme initiated by the Ministry of Export Promotion and International Trade is progressing successfully. The implementing body of the scheme is the Department of Commerce. It is conducted under three criteria, namely, revenue, employment and volume of sale.
