Couple hacked to death

A couple was hacked to death by unidentified suspects in the East of Kondavil, Kopai on Tuesday night, police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said.

He said W. Suresh Kumar (32) and his wife S. Suvadeepal (26) was found dead in their house in the East of Kondavil around ten p.m.

"The deceased couple's throats were slashed by unknown suspects," he said.

Meanwhile, a body of an unidentified man was found dumped in a marshy land in Gonawela, Sapugaskanda yesterday morning, SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said.

He said acting on information Kelaniya police found an unidentified body of a man in a marshy land near a railway track in the Gonawela area around 6.30 a.m.

The victim was aged between 30 to 40 and his height around 5' 7" inches.
