Minister cautions Provincial DEs on test papers

Provincial Directors of Education were told by the Education Minister Susil Premajayantha that problems that arose in connection with question papers during the current second term tests of schools in many parts the country could not be allowed to happen again and extreme care should be exercised in preparation and distribution of question papers to schools at a meeting with the minister on Tuesday.

Minister Susil Premajayantha told Daily News that seminars to instruct and educate the zonal and regional directors of education were to be held soon so that the methodology of preparation of question papers for the third term test would be discussed to prevent a recurrence of the problems related to question papers reported at the current second term test in certain areas.

He said the zonal directors would be given instructions to ensure that each question paper was prepared and checked before they were recorded in the compact discs and printed.
