STF Director Training killed by LTTE claymore
Director Training of the Special Task Force, SSP
Upul Seneviratne and his driver were killed in an LTTE claymore
blast at Digana yesterday. The incident occurred in Rajawella,
Digana at around 4.45 a.m. while the SSP was on his way to his
Office at the STF Training Centre in Katukurunda.

Compensation for Mavilaru farmer victims
The Government through the Agricultural and
Agrarian Insurance Board has decided to grant Rs. 10,000 as
immediate compensation to farmers per each acre of paddy land
destroyed after the LTTE blocked the Mavilaru anicut.

Third meeting of APRC today
The All Party Representative Committee set up to
formulate a constitutional framework to resolve the ethnic conflict
will meet today. The Committee which convenes for the third time
will continue its deliberations on the stakeholders and their issues
which is the first item of the agenda, APRC Chairman Prof. Tissa
Vitharana said.
