Feather

I am a feather;
A white, light,
Slight feather;
Ready to take flight
In any weather.

I am a feather;
I cannot fly,
But will try
If the wind is kind
To take me high.

I am a feather,
Longing to float
Over hills and fields,
Over land over seas;
Just to touch your cheek,
And fall in bliss at your feet.

I am a feather, Love,
I'll make it somehow.

Stop bloodshed !

Blood shed does not stop
Among humans
Until the hearts of
The aggressors - Murderers
Terrorists -
Undergo purification !
Only when glory, power
and craving
uprooted
From the human hearts
The sympathy for
others' lives
will gush out !
Let the Super Powers
Purify their hearts
To put an end
To blood shed
In the human world

The Power

Walking miles and miles away
Through that thick jungle
Wrapped with deadly weariness
With thirst and hunger
Lifeless to move a single step forward
Following footsteps just disappeared
With dreadful silence
I realised, I was lost.

Knowing nobody was around
To lift me or owing a hand
I laid down
Sudden awake in a few seconds
Slight echo of a familiar sound,
With great muscality
I recognized.. that was you
Raising my head with difficulty
You were visible at the top of the hill

Exploring your glacial beauty
Flowing down like an angel
From the sky
With such a rhythm
Foamy bubbles and the frothy flakes
Circling around you, a joyful dance
With that fine breeze
Singing birds at the hem, to welcome you
Admiring your natural attraction
And adding strength to my weak soul
My heart applauded
Gazed with generosity
Towards your healing power
That lasts forever

Reality check

Everything in the world
Is naturally not lasting..
Take anything, any thing.
Can you name any thing,
Animate or inanimate that
Is of an unchanging nature?
Take a human. He is born,
He ages.. and he has to die.
Take an inanimate thing
Like a mirror... It is fragile...
It can break... wood rots...
Seasons change... so do our
Thoughts... and emotions...
Nothing... including ourselves
Is permanent. The only permanent
Reality... is Impermanence.

The Sports meet

Everything is ready,
Everyone is ready,
But something is messy,
Anxious eyes with hopes
Are waiting to catch the moment
Under the shade impatiently.
Wait and wait and wait!
No end of waiting!
The giant pandal at the entrance
Is greedily waiting to embrace
The dignitaries proud.

There stand the Band
With gleaming instruments in hands,
Seemed to be withered flowers,
The wrath of the departing sun
Burns their faces as if to
Avenge on them of their delay.
They wait and wait and wait.
No end of waiting!
But nobody seems to arrive
To relieve them of this torture
Of sweet grand welcome!

Young girl

You are as fresh and as sweet
As a wild orchid that spreads
Fragrance and serenity all over.
Young girl! You bring happiness
To all around you with your charm
Beauty and composure.

I do not know where you come from
Or where you are going,
Your parents or where you live
I do not want to know your whereabouts
Lest it may destroy the mystique
And spoil the happiness that entails.

Seeing you in the morning
Or in the evening hurrying somewhere
Adds something to my lonely life
And makes me with that I had
Someone like you close to me.
A wish that could never never be true.

But having a young girl at close quarters
Will involve one with its own complications
Akin to the life of someone like you.
Appreciating your enchanting presence
From a distance saves me such heartburns.
(Please forgive me for the selfish thought).

The turbid mind

It's the elephant human conflict
Which keeps each other apart
The giant of our jungles is in peril
Of extinction because of man
Wallowing in deep muddy ground
The elephant is saved by man
yet man is killed because of restricting
This giant animal of our land
an endangerd species these elephants
Believed valued from time immemorial
Man's cruelty to the forests
Has chased many elephants to other lands
Seeking food and water
To escape the increasing heat
Suffering musth and lack of vegetation
Make dangerous these mighty beasts
Marauding many plantations
Destroying everything on their way
In search for water and also mud
The elephants find at last their need
Exhausted man's patience
The hungry elephants kill their prey
as man dies trampled and beaten
By these giants of the forests
The turbid confused minds of both
Kill each other in vain

The Call

Pleasant indeed the evening
But loneliness reigns
With book in hand
I sit to read

A voice, I hear
Mother! Mother!!
A house nearby
A son come home

I raise my head
To greet you son
Then I know
You are far away
Far far away my son

I turn the page
Of the book once more
With hope for bliss
In what I read

A moonlight sonata!

The Silver moon shines,
Upon the Golden sands,
Aves of nocturne, glide in flight,
At twilight time!

bright stars twinkle,
Like jewels of a Royal Crown,
Up in the vast, serene,
Dark, silent sky!

Halloween shadows,
dance sprightly,
In varied silhouette forms,
As the last rays of the sun,
Disappear, out of sight!

Swiftly sweeps, the chilly breeze,
Across the barren, mountains steep,
And the valley, far below, sleeps,
As I stand, enchanted, still!

'Observe I', in silence deep,
As a solitary star exists,
"A rivulet fall, Gently,
Into a creek!"

Meandering, on its way,
Down the hills,
The rivulet flows, shimmering,
With her waters, sparkling bright!

And, it makes my heart, to sing,
With divine joy and great delight, its
gladness bring,
To See, all these wonderful things,
In Mother natures, beautiful creation!

A new dawn

As I look up, to the
myriad stars
On a dying summer's day
Smelling the arid warmth
Of slothful being
I see a new dawn of
harvests and promise
Of trees swaying in the
cool breeze
Trying desperately to lose
their leaves
telling stale stories of
times past
I know it is time for new life
To start with the freshness
of hope
And all the happiness
That my heart can take
Life is an illusion
of gentle faces
in cracking mirrors
their images clouded by
too many tears
As the cold chill reappears
I could only hope that the snow
Would teach me to tread gently
Into the future

Mind over tatters

The prison of your mind
A cell block defines
A memory lapse
Of life's depths.

An obedient child

Sitting in a corner thinking of you
The constant battle and the hardships you went thro'
To bring me up without anybody around
To help you out
Swallowing your sound of cries and the hidden pains
You gave me smile to keep me happy
But, I could see that you were weary, my dear mother

You gave me life, you gave me courage
To understand the real manhood
You push me through to study hard
To stand strong one day
Your precious words are still ringing in my ear
"Never give up", "Never be afraid to do the
right thing"
You were brave my dear mother!

All your dreams have come true to make my
life a 'comfortable'
Thank you mother, 'I am doing well' today
But, there is some emptiness bothering my way
You are not there to stand next to me, sharing
my movements
I miss you
Even though, I am sure of one thing
You are standing somewhere watching me
To make sure whether I am doing "RIGHT" as a
good human being
Yes mother, I am still your obedient child
I love you forever
