Lanka concerned over Sethusamudram project - Mangala by Ranil Wijayapala An inter-ministerial committee headed by the Foreign Ministry has been
appointed to study the implications of the proposed Sethusamudram Project
of the Indian Government to create a canal linking eastern and western
coasts of India. President appreciative of Norway's commitment President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga received Erik Solheim,
Special Advisor to the Royal Norwegian Government on the Sri Lanka peace
process at the President's House yesterday. Solheim briefed the President
on his conversations with Anton Balasingham in London and S.P.
