Flyover needs repairs

This may not look like a flyover bridge, but it happens to be the first one in Sri Lanka. The bridge, connecting the present D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha and Lotus Road (in front of Lake House), constructed during the colonial period of Governor McCallum is now neglected. Unauthorised constructions and Kaputu Bo trees have damaged the bridge, leading to cracks in the structure. The trains that frequently pass underneath also result in vibrations that can be felt by bridge users. The plight of this flyover has raised alarm among motorists using the bridge.
