Mahanayake Thera escapes unhurt in car crash

The Most Ven. Udugama Sri Buddharakkhita Mahanayake Thera of the Asgiriya Chapter escaped unhurt when the car in which he was travelling collided with another vehicle near the Beligammana Viharaya at Mawanella on the Kandy-Colombo road around 7.30 a.m. yesterday.

The Mahanayake Thera was on his way to Colombo on some urgent matter when a van from the opposite direction crashed on to his car while trying to overtake another vehicle, Police said. Both vehicles were damaged.
