Laugfs LP gas price up by Rs. 50

Due to rapid increase in International LPGas prices and also due to unusual demand pattern in some parts of the region, the world market prices of LPGas have been increasing continuously during last few months. In addition, the US dollar currency appreciation against rupee too has further aggravated the stability in the buying price of LPGas in the world market. This abnormality has created a grave situation to the organisation in term of the cost.

In order to stabilise the domestic retail price of LPGas, we have made many representations to Consumer Affairs Authority requesting for them to extend the same facilities, which they have offered to other LPGas multinations and the response so far has been negative. Therefore, in this connection, after much deliberation, with great reluctance, we have decided to revise the price of 12.5kg domestic LPGas cylinder from midnight of 3rd August 2004 by Rs. 50 per cylinder.

With this revision the new price of 12.5 kg domestic refill cylinder in Colombo will read as follows: Laugfs LPGas 12.5 kg - Selling price Rs. 670.00 (Colombo Base Price) The above selling price will be adjusted across the country accordingly.
