Financial management key for business

CIMA awarded Superbrand status:

Financial management is vital for both the public and private sector as it plays a key role in their institutions said, Chief Executive CIMA Charles Tilley. Speaking to the 'Daily News Business' at the event in which CIMA was presented with a Super Brand award he said that the best example for good financial management is the production of the world's cheapest car in India. "This is a living example as a lot of financial planning went to it to plan this car," he said.

Dankotuwa Porcelain launched a new porcelain product for the hotel industry yesterday at TransAsia. The company is planning to market 20 per cent of the new product to the Sri Lankan hotel industry. Another noteworthy development during the year was the continuous decline in unemployment to its historical lowest level of 5.6 per cent by the third quarter of 2007. This result was mainly due to the employment created through several infrastructure projects launched by the government, the implementation of a large number of BOI projects, and the new recruitment to the public sector.
