Seylan Bank to assist youth predeparture loans
The Tourist board has taken the initiative to promote overseas
employment opportunities specially for youth in the hotel trade under
the patronage of the Deputy Minister of Tourism Faiszer Musthapha.
Seylan Bank, through the initiative of its Acting Chairperson Lady Dr.
Sicille P. C. Kotelawala has come forward to extend financial assistance
for these trainees.
The youth are trained at the Tourist Board Hotel School on a two
months special training programme.
The first batch of such trainees are scheduled to leave for Doha,
Qatar soon. This group consists of 15 trainees who have undergone
training at the training school in Hotel Management in Kandy. Seylan
Bank will be offering them financial assistance with predeparture loans
to meet their cost for Air fare and other fees. They will have the
opportunity of remitting money through Ceylinco Fast Cash to their loved
ones in Sri Lanka once they are employed abroad.
When they commence their remittances they will automatically be
eligible to a host of value added features such as Draws, Emergency
distress facilities and Swift Care health services for their loved ones

At a conference held at the Tourist Board Auditorium, addressing the
trainee employees, the Deputy Minister thanked Seylan Bank for coming
forward to offer financial assistance to them.
He further stated that the recruitment which is currently done in
Kandy will be extended to other Districts such as Anuradhapura,
Hambantota and Ampara. |
