Opportunities for marketers from Sri Lanka's recent demographic
changes
The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region has organised a
programme titled "Opportunities For Marketers Arising From Sri Lanka's
Recent Demographic Changes" under the CIM Talking Point series which
will be held on February 7 from 6.00 to 8.00 pm at the Cat's Eye
Ballroom, Ceylon Continental Hotel.
The keynote speaker at the programme will be Dr. Anila Dias
Bandaranaike, former Assistant Governor of the Central Bank of Sri
Lanka.
Dr. Dias Bandaranaike served as the Director of Statistics and Bank
Supervision of The Central Bank, prior to her tenure as the Assistant
Governor of The Central Bank.
The presentation will cover the demographic changes relating to
population growth, such as age, gender and education profiles and
geographic distribution, and related socio-economic changes of Sri
Lanka, both on the demand and the supply side; and the challenges and
opportunities arising from such changes, replete with recent statistics
and findings of national level surveys and studies conducted by the
Department of Census and Statistics (DCS) and the Central Bank of Sri
Lanka (CBSL).
The programme will be complemented with a discussion facilitated by a
panel of consisting eminent speakers, namely; Amali Nanayakkara - Chief
Executive Officer of Bharti Airtel Lanka, Roshani Fernando - Vice
President of Quantum Strategic Services, Prof. Sunanda Degamboda from
the Department of Industrial Management, University of Kelaniya and
Marketing Director of Ceylon Tobacco Dr. Rajeev Meewakkala. |
