PUTHUKUDIRIPPU: Air Force supersonic fighter jets pounded an LTTE
administration and operations coordinating centre in Keewelikulam,
northwest of Puthukudirippu yesterday morning, Air Force spokesman Wing
Commander Andrew Wijesuriya said.
The air strike was carried out by Air Force fighters around 10.15 am
targeting the Tigers' administration and operations coordinating centre.
"The target was accurate and precise", Wing Commander Wijesuriya said.
He said this was a major blow to the LTTE. "The Tigers used this
location to plan and carry out attacks targeting Security Forces in the
Northern and Wanni fronts," he added.
Pilots confirmed that the target was destroyed and caused heavy
casualties to LTTE cadres. "The Air Force carried out aerial attacks
following ground intelligence information and air base surveillance,"
Wing Commander Wijesuriya said.
SLAF fighter jets in yet another successful Air strike at around 3.25
p.m, pounded an LTTE communications relaying station and a divisional
office of an LTTE leader located half a kilometre south of Karadiyabokku
junction, north of Kilinochchi.
Fighter pilots have confirmed that the target was accurately hit and
destroyed. |
