 Basil Rajapaksa who took oaths as a National List MP of the United People’s Freedom Alliance before Speaker W.J.M. Lokubandara yesterday in Parliament, received blessings from the Maha Sangha after participating in religious observances at the Sri Sambuddhaloka Vihara in Colombo Fort last evening. Ven. Kirinde Premasiri Thera of the Sri Sambuddhaloka Vihara conducted the ceremony on this occasion.

There will be no hike in milk powder prices within the next months, the Government assured consumers yesterday.

Labour intense projects like Maga Neguma is important:

The World Bank will support well-planned capital intense infrastructure projects, in the country which are in the pipeline. These projects should definitely enhance rural development, World Bank Country Director for Sri Lanka Naoko Ishii said.
