Pramuka to be liquidated

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka announced last night that the Pramuka Savings and Development Bank Ltd will be liquidated in accordance with a decision taken by the Monetary Board. Pramuka is the first Bank to be liquidated in independent Sri Lanka.

Pettah fire death toll 21 : Explosion caused fire -GA

Two more charred bodies were extricated from the mountain of rubble in Tuesday's fire at the Adamalee Complex in Gasworks Street raising the death toll in the incident to 21. Initial investigations have ruled out the possibility of sabotage or arson.
