Nine Lankan athletes for World Youth Championship
Nine athletes who did well in the 55th Junior
National Athletic Championship held in Sugathadasa Stadium and
Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium Diyagama last week have qualified to
represent Sri Lanka in the IAAF World Youth Championship which will
be worked off in Ukraine from July 10 to 14.

Sheron Fernando wins monthly medal round
The first monthly medal round for the year, was
conducted by the Royal Colombo Golf Club. It was sponsored by
Capital Alliance and held at the RCGC on Saturday May 18, 2013.
There were three divisions the ‘A’ being won by Sheron Fernando the
‘B’ being won by A. V. Rajendra and ‘C’ being won by Mahendra
Jayasekera. This apart there was competition in the Seniors, Masters
and Sri Lanka pool players.

Rest of Sri Lanka win SLC President’s Trophy
Rest of Sri Lanka won the Sri Lanka Cricket
President’s Trophy defeating Sri Lanka Combined XI by 76 runs at
Pallekele on Monday. Batting first, Rest of Sri Lanka made 205 runs
in 48.5 overs. Thilina Kandamby (65) and Lahiru Thirimanne (51) made
half centuries, spinner Dhanushka Gunatilleke took four for 30 and
pacemen Isuru Udana and Dilhara Lokuhettige shared two wickets each.
