Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC’s three-year Listed
Unsecured Redeemable Debenture issue opened on Tuesday, May 21, was
oversubscribed almost immediately, and was subsequently closed in
the early hours of the opening day itself.

Operations at SLPA run smoothly despite TU action
All staff members and employees of Sri Lanka
Ports Authority (SLPA) reported to work yesterday as usual and
operations and office work of the institution ran well despite the
strikes said to be organized island-wide to paralyze the daily
chores of a number of sectors. The strike organized to be campaigned
on the 21, May, was totally unsuccessful within the port premises.

Fitch rates Ceylon Gilt-Edged Fund ‘AAA(lka)’/’V1(lka)’
Fitch Ratings has assigned the Ceylon Gilt-Edged
Fund a ‘AAA (lka)’ National Fund Credit Rating and ‘V1(lka)’
National Fund Volatility Rating. The fund is managed by Ceylon Asset
Management (CAM). The ‘AAA (lka)’ National Fund Credit Rating is
driven by the fund’s investment in government securities and
repurchase agreements backed by government securities only. Fitch
considers the national credit quality of Sri Lankan government
securities to be AAA (lka).
