Rest of Sri Lanka win SLC President’s Trophy

Rest of Sri Lanka won the Sri Lanka Cricket President’s Trophy
defeating Sri Lanka Combined XI by 76 runs at Pallekele on Monday.
Batting first, Rest of Sri Lanka made 205 runs in 48.5 overs. Thilina
Kandamby (65) and Lahiru Thirimanne (51) made half centuries, spinner
Dhanushka Gunatilleke took four for 30 and pacemen Isuru Udana and
Dilhara Lokuhettige shared two wickets each.
Chasing the 206 target, Sri Lanka Combined XI were bowled out for 129
runs within 32.5 overs. Left arm spinner Rangana Herath ended with an
economical figures having captured three for 16 and all rounder Dilruwan
Perera took three for 36. The tournament was held at Pallekele in
preparation for the Champions Trophy to be held from June 6 to June 23
in England and Wales.
