The Australians winning a good toss, dominated
the first day of the First of Three Tests scoring 299 for 4 wickets
at the close on day one at the picturesque Bellerive Oval in Hobart,
here today. Left handers David Warner and Philip Hughes took the
batting honours scoring 57 and 86 in the first two sessions with
Captain Michael Clarke and Michael Hussey hugging the final session
unbeaten on 70 and 37 and putting on an unbroken stand of 101 for
the 5th wicket.
