Dilani 4th in the world
Sri Lanka's Dilani Peiris won the fourth place at the Indoor Archery
World Championships held in Singapore. A member of the Colombo Archery
School (CAS) Archery Club, Dilani, who was ranked 21 in the qualifying
rounds, had an impressive tournament beating number 4 ranked Bianca
Gotuaco of Philippines in the quarter finals and loosing to number 1
ranked Schuh Berengere of France in the semi finals. She concluded the
tournament with a world Indoor Archery ranking of number 4, which is one
of the highest world rankings achieved by any Sri Lankan Archer.
Dilani who is an Old Girl of St. Bridget's Convent, won the womens
novices title at last year's National Archery Championships and is also
a current member of the Sri Lanka National Archery Pool. She is coached
by Nipuna Seneviratne and Samantha Rajapaksa of the Colombo Archery
Centre. |
