Boxer Manju tested positive for drugs
Homeopathy doctor under microscope:
A homeopathy doctor in Kurunegala has allegedly
given the performance enhancing drug to Sri Lanka boxer Manju
Wanniarachchi, stating that it was a vitamin B injection.
Wanniarachchi, who won the men’s 56kg bantamweight gold medal at the
recent Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India was tested positive
for performance enhancing drug, according to the Games officials,
who have conveyed the result to the National Olympic Committee (NOC)
of Sri Lanka last week.

Brilliant SC take Premier League Division Two title
Brilliant SC emerged Division Two champions of
the Dialog Premier League when they defeated Super Beach SC,
Kalutara in a penalty tie-breaker by 6-5 points in one of the
toughest finishes in history at the CR and FC Ground, Colombo
yesterday. Both teams failed to score at full time. But at the
penalty shoot-out, the guys from Ampara were one step ahead of the
boys from Kalutara.

Pasindu steals the limelight
The Gunner Super Cross 2010 - the final stage of
the CEAT-SLARDAR Championship for the year 2010 concluded yesterday
at the Minneriya Gunner Track on a grand note. It became a great day
for Pasindu Peiris who won four events to make it a record. Pasindu
who was chasing for the championship in the CEAT 1600cc class had no
difficulty in winning both events yesterday. These two victories
assured him the championship for this class.
