11th AMCHAM Suntel Golf tournament - Oct 30

The raising of funds for charitable causes through the medium of golf
for the past consecutive 11 years by the locally based American Chamber
of Commerce (AMCHAM) with Suntel joining in 2005 and, this year it is
co-sponsored by Havelock city.
Exemplary as it is, it must give the 3 institutions inward
satisfaction and a sense of well being. This has been its experience,
when AMCHAM in the past successfully initiated and promoted 10 annual
charity golf tournaments and this year's tournament together with Suntel
and Havelock City will be organized and conducted on Saturday, October
30 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club.
These details were made known to the members of the media at a
briefing by the President of AMCHAM, Vijaya Ratnayake at the RCGC.
Ratnayake further said the monies that accrued from the earlier
tournaments were to young entrepreneurs' of Sri Lanka, the Jairpur Limb
Foundation for the Disabled, the Cancer Hospital in Maharagama, the
Navodaya Special Education Residence school for boys in Kandy, the
Ceylon school for the deaf and blind Ratmalana, the Halpotha Children's
Home in Hikkaduwa and the Castle Street Maternity Home.
This praiseworthy tournament has stirred the emotions of a little
over 200 golfers according to VC-RCGC, Sanjiv Vairvanathan and Chairman
Golf Committee, Primal Wijayanayake, the tournament will commence at
6.30 am on the stableford format with players playing in A, B and C
divisions as determined by their respective handicaps.
There will also be seniors and ladies division. this apart there is
bound to be special competition.
The Managing Director Suntel, Jeremy Huxtable and Chief Operating
Officer Havelock City, Ramaz Ghouse presented their respective
sponsorship packages saying that they were highly pleased to be
associated with this Benevolent gesture. |
