Captain brothers pilot Copper Chimney CC to victory

An elegant batting display by brothers, Yariq Captain (89) and Yannich Captain (65) guided Copper Chimney to their second consecutive win over in Division Three cricket match against A W Sports Club at MCA grounds recently.

The duo added 150 runs for the third wicket. Copper Chimney CC mostly consist of under 15 school players are playing their first season in Division Three this year.

Earlier they beat Nugegoda Sports and Welfare Club by 10 runs on parabola system at St Benedict’s ground.

Copper Chimney CC: 246 for 7 in 50 overs (Yarriq Captain 89, Yannich Captain 65, Mayura Ranasinghe 29, Roshan Iddamalgoda 20, Ajith Kumara 3 for 53, Damith Mendis 2 for 30).

AW Sports Club: 218 all out in 47.1 overs (Kasun Madusanka 58, Wasantha Srimal 47, Wasantha Jayasekara 2 for 31, Rasika Peiris 2 for 41).
