Right-arm off spinner Aravinda Premaratne took a match-bag of 10 for
53 to bowl St Anthony's College, Kandy to an innings and 190 runs win
over Kalutara Vidyalaya in their inter-school cricket match concluded at
the Kalutara esplanade yesterday.
Aravinda Premaratne struck a good length turning the ball at varying
angles and often at a low trajectory bemused the Kalutara Vidyalaya
batsmen to capture 5 for 31 and leg-spinner Saranga Rajaguru lent him
useful support to capture 3 for 31.
Kalutara Vidyalaya continuing from their overnight score of 58 for 3
folded up for 107 after batting for 16.3 overs yesterday morning.
They were expected to put up a better fight in the second innings but
they fared worse to be routed for a paltry 63 in just 24.3 overs.
Off-spinner Aravinda Premaratne once again turned out to be the
wrecker capturing 5 for 22.
Though playing in their home terrain, Kalutara Vidyalaya in the two
innings could not even score half of Antonians' huge total of 360 for 3
declared.
St Anthony's College: 360 for 3 declared.
Kalutara Vidyalaya: 58 for 3 wickets overnight 107 all out in 46.3
overs (Isuru Buddhika 25, P Withanage 25, Aravinda Premaratne 5 for 31,
