Foreign Minister requests US Attorney General, National Security Advisor:

FOREIGN Minister Rohitha Bogollagama called on the US Government to assist Sri Lanka’s quest for peace, by taking stern action to prevent the LTTE from engaging in fund-raising activities through numerous front organisations in the US.

STOCKING of fuel in the refurbished oil tank at the Kankesanturai cement factory premises for distribution in the Jaffna peninsula began on Thursday with the pumping of 900 tons of fuel transported in the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Chartered ship Pavith, the Media Centre for National Security said yesterday.

THE security and other facilities offered for foreign shipping services at Colombo Port stands at a very satisfactory international standard, said Mario Moretta the Italian captain of the luxury passenger cruiser “Costa Marina” which called at the Sri Lanka Ports Authority controlled Colombo Port recently.
