Marikar, Wakf Board Chairman

COLOMBO:President Mahinda Rajapaksa, in his capacity as the Minister of Muslim Religious Affairs has appointed Mansoor Marikar, a senior Lawyer of the Galle Bar, as the Chairman of the Wakf Board of Sri Lanka for a period of three years commencing from February 1.

Mansoor Marikar was the Chairman of the Wakf Board in 1995 and was the Mayor of Galle, a Member of the first Board of Directors of the State Mortgage Bank and a member of the Public Service Commission.
