School material for children

COLOMBO: The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau will distribute school material and equipment worth over Rs. 1,300 million among school children whose parents have left for foreign employment through the Bureau.

Under this programme, children from schools in the Colombo district will receive school stationery at a ceremony at the Bureau’s head office today and tomorrow at 9.00 am.

According to sources 1,100 school children in the Colombo district who have been selected to receive school equipment are those whose parents have left for foreign employment after registering with the Bureau.

Parents should register with the Foreign Employment Bureau before leaving the island for foreign employment for their children to qualify for this entitlement.
