Police smash fake Dollars scam

A special team of officers of the Police Headquarters Crimes Unit yesterday uncovered a massive counterfeit dollar note printing racket and arrested a suspect in connection with the scam.

Nothing done by LTTE to remove Wan-Ela camp - Nordic monitors

The Nordic truce monitors who visited the Wan-Ela camp, in Kinniya yesterday confirmed that nothing has been done by the LTTE to remove the camp from the location, Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission spokeswoman Agnes Bragadottir told the Daily News yesterday.

Udathalawinna massacre victims given letters of land ownership

Families of the ten victims in the Udathalawinna massacre which occurred on General election day in December 2001 received letters of ownership to their lands from Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at a simple ceremony held at Temple Trees yesterday.
