A South Korean performer at Mt. Halla in Cheju Island lights a torch during a rehearsal on September 4, 2002 ahead of the 14th Asian Games to be held in Pusan September 29-October 14. The torch will be combined in a ceremony at South Korea’s Imjinkak near demilitarized zone on September 7 with another torch to be lit at North Korea’s Mt. Baekdu on September 5. 
Clifford Cup final at Nittawela : Kandy-Army in bruising battle

A bruising battle is in store when the reigning Caltex Clifford Cup Champions Kandy Sports Club take on Sri Lanka Army in the finals of the Clifford Cup knock out rugby tournament sponsored by Caltex which will be played at the picturesque Nittawela Rugby Stadium on September 6  at 5 p.m.
