Unbeaten Sri Lanka netballers grabbed the gold
medal in the final encounter of the last day, when India’s hopes to
go back home with a tally of dozen gold medals were dashed by the
host netballers ,under the hot sandy beach in Hambantota yesterday .

Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina
hit robust half-centuries to lift India to 300-7 in the first
one-day international against England in Hyderabad on Friday. The
pair put on 72 for the fifth wicket in 10 overs after the
injury-ravaged world champions, electing to take first strike, were
reduced to 123-4 by the 29th over.
