Man arrested for deceiving cab company

A man who rented vehicles from a cab service company and re-rented them for low prices was ordered to be remanded by the Kalutara district magistrate. The man aged 23 is a resident of Dewagoda, Meega, Dharga town.

Children should not tamper with strange objects, warn Police

The Police Public Relations Unit request parents and teachers to educate children to keep away and not to tamper with objects found in the Northern and Eastern Provinces which might be ordnance and explosives. The Police made the request as several persons, including children were killed and many critically injured following explosions of objects found in the North and the East in the recent past.

Navy intercepts another group of Aussie-bound illegal immigrants

The Navy intercepted another 53 persons illegally bound for Australia in a multi-day trawler on Tuesday. The trawler named “Sinhale 4” was intercepted by a Fast Naval Patrol Craft attached to the Eastern Naval Command 16 nautical miles off Pigeon Island in Trincomalee.
