Man arrested for deceiving cab company

A man who rented vehicles from a cab service company and re-rented them for low prices was ordered to be remanded by the Kalutara district magistrate. The man aged 23 is a resident of Dewagoda, Meega, Dharga town.

He rented luxury vehicles from a cab service in Beruwala, Hettimulla area and re-rented the vehicles for low prices and enjoyed himself with the proceeds at a Bambalapitiya night club.

The raid was carried out by OIC of Western Province Intelligence Unit, Kalutara Division, Nalaka P. Sumanarathna and intelligence officers. Police also seized three luxury cars and a motorcycle and handed these over to Beruwala Police for further investigations. The man posed as a wealthy person to deceive the cab company. Inquiries revealed the suspect was married and enjoyed showing off his new vehicles to his wife who too was deceived.

Investigations are continuing.
