Cop allegedly taking bribe nabbed

A police officer who allegedly accepted a bribe from a person has been given an imprisonment suspended for ten years and fined Rs. 12,000 by Colombo high court. The police officer was attached to the Polonnaruwa, Pulasthigama Police station. He allegedly received Rs. 12,000 as a bribe from a person issued with a warrant to evade arrest, investigations revealed.
