Lanka to get speed train by 2016
For the first time in Sri Lanka a Metropolitan
speed train system would be set up from Katunayake airport to Fort
and back. Airport Express and Rail Company limited (AEARC) a
Malaysian based company is looking at investing US $ 600 million for
this landmark investment heralding a new era in the Sri Lankan
transport sector.

Telecom Annual Report wins gold
Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) triumphed at the 2010/11
Vision Awards Annual Report Competition to win a gold award in the
Telecommunications Sector. Organised by the League of American
Communication Professionals (LACP), SLT was also placed 19th overall
in the Top 100 Worldwide Rank of this much coveted global annual
report competition. SLT is the first listed Sri Lankan company to be
in the 'top 20' of the Global LACP Vision Awards.

flydubai to touch Mattala
flydubai Airlines is seriously considering
operating flights to Mattala airport soon. Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief
Executive officer, flydubai Airlines said in Colombo yesterday said
that their business strategy is to operate flights to secondary
airports and Mattala is in their radar.
