Bangladesh stun Lanka
Banglasesh scored a stunning five wicket victory
over Sri Lanka in the last league match of the Asia Cup at Dhaka
yesterday to advance to the final of the Asia Cup where they will
meet Pakistan on March 22 Thursday. After bowling out Sri Lanka for
232 the Bangladeshis who were set a revised victory target of 212 in
40 overs after delay due to rain reached the target with 2.5 overs
to spare much to the delight of the home team’s supporters.

Chamara(163) helps Board XI pile up 376/5
Sri Lanka Board President's XI were in a strong
position at the end of the first day's play of the three day cricket
match against England XI which began at SSC Grounds yesterday.
Taking the first lease of the wicket, Sri Lanka Board XI piled up a
massive score of 376 for five with the help of right hander Chamara
Silva who hit a mighty 163 runs including 25 hits to the ropes and
one over it well supported by Thilina Kandamby who contributed 64
runs. A valuable partnership of 151 runs for the third wicket by
Chamara Silva and Thilina Kandamby paved the way for Sri Lankans to
score such a massive total.

Japanese coaches for Karate, Judo and Baseball
Sri Lanka will have the service of Japanese
coaches for Karate, Judo and Baseball. The Sports Ministry has taken
an initiative to uplift 23 sports through the service of foreign
experts targeting more medals at the 2013 South Asian Games which
will be held in New Delhi, India.
