Auro invests Rs 1.3 b in leisure sector

Favourite Group diversifies:

Auro Holdings the newest player to enter the hospitality field of Sri Lanka, has invested Rs. 1.3 billion to have three hotels in Colombo, Tangalle (Ranna) and at Kalpitiya. Both the Ranna and Colombo properties will open in December.

Axis Bank opens branch in Colombo

Axis Bank, the third largest private bank in India expanded its presence in Sri Lanka. The opening of its first branch in Colombo bids to facilitate corporate and debt financing in the country.

Aeroflot to fly to Colombo again

Russian Air Company, Aeroflot intends to recommence its regular flights from Moscow to Colombo from November 2. Sri Lanka's Russian Ambassador Vladimir P Mikhaylov said the launching of Aeroflot flights to Sri Lanka will establish favourable conditions for passenger and cargo operations between the two countries and Russia is committed to further strengthen the bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
