Prime Grameen lends over Rs 1000 million in three months

Prime Grameen Micro Finance Ltd reached another milestone by disbursing over Rs 1000 million to 45,000 deserving small-scale entrepreneurs engaged in self-employment projects throughout its Islandwide 48-branch network within a period of three months.

Grameen has been in the forefront of providing much-needed Micro Finance loans over of 11 years setting new trends and revolutionizing the MFI.

It went through a lean period in 2009 to mid 2011 until the real leader in real estate, Prime Lands, took full controlling shares in July 2011.

What is significant in disbursing Rs 1000 million in three months is that prime Lands ability to turnaround the company lead by B. Premalal together with its professional Board of Directors from near insolvency to path of profitability within three months.

The new management has initiated a strategic business plan that will propel Prime Grameen Micro Finance Ltd to the zenith of MFI with innovative and customer oriented products and service to its members and customers.

For over 15 years Prime Lands has been a leader in real estate. Providing Rs 1000 million in three months is a clear indication of Prime Grameen's determination to make Prime Grameen Micro Finance Ltd the leading micro finance provider in Sri Lanka.

This augurs well both for its members as well as for its deposit holders and they could look forward to a better place on earth with "Prime Grameen", a company spokesman said.
