United Nations Peacemaker turned warmongers’ tool
The United Nations made a mockery of itself with
its May 2010 Security Council resolution imposing sanctions on Iran,
fourth in the series, for not halting its nuclear program. This is
yet another demonstration of UN Security Council being exploited by
the United States led Europe to implement their evil designs on
countries, especially Muslim countries, which fail to toe their
line.

On ‘acceptability’ and ‘responsibility’
Words such as acceptable are predicated on sets
of rules. If there were no rules or norms then everything would be
acceptable or else everything would be unacceptable. Norms are
notorious for being vague and therefore amenable not just for
multiple interpretation but transgression with impunity as well.
Rules are less airy. When they are concretized as ‘law’ they are
granted form. They become defined by line and space. This means
there is less room for interpretive variation.

during the committee stage of budget 2010, the Minister said this
request by the Opposition Leader had been published in the US State
Department publication titled Sri Lanka: Re-charting US strategy
after the war prepared by the Committee on Foreign Relations of the
US. The committee working on after the war situation has recorded
their observations in this report. He quoted the following
