The newest spa in town, aptly named Serenite, located in the heart of the affluent locale of Jawatte Road, features the uncompromising difference. The accent is on the nature-inspiring ambiance. The fascination centred around the architecture that creatively sculptured itself round the trees, absorbing the essence of nature in all its glory. The profusion of fern formed a seductive skirting, at the foot of every tree making suggestive yet dramatic moves in the breeze, that gushed in, free for all. Serenite, then, is the other name for heaven.

Winding walkways and spiraling stairways leading to white marble floors reflected the exuberant nature of a man whose spirit eternally wandered out of the box. Many a niche stood out with character all its own presenting peek a boos in to what’s beyond the walls at different altitudes. Whichever way you looked at this simply amazing piece of architecture and its meticulous interior, one cannot but appreciate the facets of a man, whose taste, simply soars. It must be Johanne; Johanne Peiris to be exact.

He identifies the many rooms, by the singular shades of blue, green, red and gold of the silk cushions adorning the main couch reserved for the professional spa services. The double-couch gold room he explained, is to let the bridal couple enjoy cool relaxation a day prior to the big event.

The ‘rose petal bath’ opening in to the glorious outdoors, would prove blissful to even an entire bridal retinue to revel in pre-event relaxation.

In enticing niches one finds comfortable couches and settees which promote flowing conversations and easy chit chats for the Serenite customers. One cannot help feeling lifted to another realm where one hears nothing else but the gurgle of bubbling water and the rustle of leaves. The serenity is so real that you lose your mind over senses. The peace is so soothing that it screams in your soul. The two swimming pools are so inviting that it’s hard to stay away from. It does not look like man made; it’s more a pond in its natural setting.

Serenite has created an ambiance so spiritually enriching one cannot but escape in to the next level of life. Johanne has seen to every minute detail. The experience of spending an hour at Serenite is bound to feel like a second in heaven, that will entice you to keep finding your way back over, and over again. We bet once you experience the exhilaration of Serenite, all other spas in the world will be nothing.
