State Revenue and Finance Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya told Parliament yesterday that the unemployment rate of Sri Lanka has come down to 5.2 percent in 2008 from 16 percent in 1990 in spite of the challenges posed by the global economic recession and the North-East war.
